GOVERNOR GENERAL ORDERS FLAGS AT HALF MAST FOR REMEMBRANCE DAY

The official proclamation issued by the Governor General, Ms. Lee Dorsey, reads as follows:

" Her Majesty's Government honours this day, September 11, 2009 as the eighth anniversary of the attacks upon the World Trade Centre in New York and the Pentagon in Washington DC. We honour also the loss of those who were passengers aboard two jets that flew into the twin Towers as well as the jet that flew into the Pentagon, and on a deserted field in Pennsylvania scheduled for the Capitol Building or the White House.

In mourning the loss of all persons who lost their lives, we especially remember the loss of those gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender honourary citizens of the Dominion of Lambda, as well as their families and friends. We also have special and tender thoughts for those who survive them.

Among them were same-sex families and the hero of the Pennsylvania flight whose love of rugby created the international cup that may compete for today.

We also honour Barbara Olson, late wife of Theodore Olson of the United States, who died on the jet that crashed into the Pentagon. Her widower is working along with David Boies to secure a level of freedom and equality that we enjoy in the Dominion of Lambda.

In Her Majesty's Name, we ask that all national and royal standards fly at half mast from dawn to dusk on Friday, September 11, 2009 in their honour. God Save the Queen, God save the Dominion of Lambda....
