REVEREND CANON ELIZABETH ROWEN-LEIGH ELECTED PRIMATE.

The Reverend Canon Elizabeth Rowen-Leigh, DD. has been elected archbishop of Jamestown and Primate of the Anglican Church of Lambda. Canon Rowen-Leigh is married to Dr. Jane Ann Rowen-Leigh, and will the first anglican lesbian primate in the Anglican world. In an attempt to create theological sensitivity, a strict Anglo-Catholic gay priest, the Reverend Mark Upson-Downey, ThD was elected coadjutor archbishop of Jamestown.
The episcopal ordination or consecration of the two archbishops-elect will occur on October 10, 2009.
The consecrators are yet to be announced, but gay and gay-affirming prelates from the worldwide Anglican communion have made their intention known to consecrate the two clergy.
It is unclear, and very unlikely, that the Anglican Church of Lambda will be granted sacramental intercommunion by other Anglican bodies or that the Worldwide Anglican Communion will recognise the validly-consecrated archbishops as part of the Church.
There is considerable doubt that the Archbishops of Canterbury and York will also send greetings and congratulations, much less support the formation of this Anglican jurisdiction.
